Success with Crank Sports products:
I came across Crank Sports products on the web, while I was looking
for an e-tailer to order some energy gel from. I read about e-Gel, and ordered a "starter-pack" of eGel (and a t-shirt...), figuring it was time to try something new (used to use Clif Shots). I'm glad I did! I have to say "THANKS" for making such a great product.

Me (age 49) and 5 of my swimming buddies (ages 32-41) attemped to swim across San Francisco Bay from our hometown of Alameda, CA, to McCovey Cove at SBCPark. The Giants were playing the Rockies that day and we thought it would be fun to arrive at the ballpark by swimming... We regularly compete in US Master's Swimming events and swim in SF bay 2-3 times a week during the spring, summer and early fall.

This is the first-ever Trans-Bay swim to McCovey Cove at SBC Park, and I sincerely believe that Crank e-Gel played a major role in my completing the swim.

I completed the 6.5 mile swim in 2 hours, 48 minutes. Conditions included a water temperature 61-63 F with westerly 10-15 MPH winds. We departed Crown Beach State Park, Alameda, on an outgoing tide @ 10:17AM. We stopped about every 30 minutes to drink fluids (carried by our pilot boat) and re-group. I ate an e-Gel an hour before starting the swim and every hour after that. We wore neoprene caps only-- no wetsuits...

Only two of us completed the entire swim. The other swimmers ate Gu or PowerGel. There were other factors involved (water temperature, conditioning, etc.), but I honestly believe that e-Gel greatly assisted me in successfully completing the swim.
