Another Satisfied

"I am an Ironman distance, age grouper triathlete trying to qualify for Kona. I have run numerous marathons including 4 Boston Marathons. I have competed in 14 1/2 ironman distances, and 3 full IM distances. Nutrition has always been a struggle... stomach issues, etc.... I can find all kinds of info on training, but few that are helpful as far as race day nutrition. I used e-fuel and e-gel on my last 70.3, had no stomach issues, and won my age group. That being said, I still had questions about nutrition when competing in a full IM. I e-mailed a couple of questions to Crank Sports and instead of sending a generic e-mail back, Mike called me and spent a good 30-45 minutes with me on the phone answering ALL of my questions. It was truly the most helpful information I have had since I began endurance sports years ago. I am going to give my husband all of my Scratch, Carbo Pro, Bonk Breakers, etc., and use nothing but e-fuel and gel. I cannot wait to tell all of my running friends about it tomorrow during our long run. I can't thank you enough, Mike. I don't have a coach and no one has ever spent that much time explaining what I should be doing as far as nutrition is concerned when competing. I am a Crank Sports customer for life. e-Fuel Endurance Blend
First Endurance EFS

e-Fuel has nearly three times the complex carbohydrates (why is this important), and less than half the sugar compared to EFS. The increased level of complex carbs and lower sugar level in e-Fuel allows it to deliver significantly more energy than EFS, click here to learn why.

Nutrition Facts vs. Supplement Facts
When reading the EFS label you will notice that it lists "Supplement Facts" instead of the "Nutrition Facts" that you are accustom to seeing on food and drink labels. This is an important distinction. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) maintains a list of food ingredients that they have tested and have determined to be "Generally Regarded as Safe" (GRAS). If a product uses ingredients that are on the GRAS list in quantities determined to be safe by the FDA then the product is considered a food and can be labeled with a Nutrition Facts label. However, if a product uses ingredients that are NOT generally regarded as safe or in quantities that have not been determined to be safe, then they are typically classified as supplements in which case they are labeled as such with a Supplement Facts label.

All ingredients in e-Fuel Endurance Blend are generally regarded as safe by the FDA and are disclosed on the Nutrition Facts label.

Maltodextrin is the preferred carbohydrate source for endurance athletes and as such it is the primary ingredient in e-Fuel as well as most other good products on the market. EFS is 67% simple sugars. The danger of high sugar content products such as Cytomax is that they can elevate your blood sugar level too far too fast which can lead to a sugar crash (also known as bonking). Higher sugar content also raises the osmolality of the product which can reduce energy delivery, delay fluid absorption and promote dehydration.

e-Fuel is designed to provide complete and balanced electrolyte replacement that is critical for proper hydration and to avoid muscle cramping. The sodium and potassium levels in e-Fuel are designed to meet the American College of Sports Medicine's recommendation for electrolyte replacement during intense athletic activity.
The Citrates in e-Fuel assist in the carbohydrate to energy conversion process as well as reduce and slow the build-up of lactic acid in your muscles.
e-Fuel is one of the few sports drinks on the market that contains antioxidant vitamins C and E to help protect against tissue damage, reduce soreness and aid in the recovery process.
